There are various different exfoliators for you to choose from. However, keeping your skin moisturized after removal of dead skin is very important. If you use facial toner it can be applied directly after cleansing followed by your moisturizer.

Exfoliating Tips

Never rub soap, lotions, oils or any other exfoliating mixture into your face. Your facial skin is very thin and sensitive. Rubbing pushes the skin upwards, downwards and side to side loosening it and causing wrinkles. Dabbing is a safer and more effective way to apply or rinse exfoliating mixtures.

Never use hot water on your face. Hot water can burn the skin and dry it out very quickly. Using lukewarm to cool water to rinse your face will leave your skin feeling fresh and will clear any clogged pores.

Exfoliating is most effective in the evening when the skin has had a chance to adapt to the atmosphere. In the morning, your skin can be stiff. Exfoliating will also feel more rewarding after a long day of work.

Regardless of when you exfoliate, you will have to perform it more in the summer then in the winter. In the summer skin is sweaty; which causes dead skin cells to stick around.

Exfoliation can be done in the shower each morning. Just put your exfoliating scrub or exfoliating cloths in your shower caddy and scrub your face just before you get out of the shower.

• If you have dry skin, exfoliate 1 per week.
• If you have combination skin, exfoliate 4 or 5 times per week.
• If you have sensitive skin, exfoliate only once or twice (at most) per week
