Hellgate London Review - Spoilers Inside
This game had a lot of hype and a lot of people were looking forward to playing it. The unfortunate thing is that the game, while good, simply doesn't measure up to the hype.
Don't go thinking this online game review was written to bash the London game, that's not it at all. It just wasn't extraordinary. When a game is built up to be something big and exciting, you start anticipating an off-the-wall fantastic game, or at least something unique.
However, this game wasn't innovative, amazing, or even awesome. It was fun, I'll give it that, and there were some exciting parts to it. What would make the game even better is if it those parts of the game were magnified.
If you read another Hellgate London review, and it says that the game was amazing, or that it lived up to it's expectations, they will be lying. It's rather like smiling and complimenting your girlfriend or boyfriend instead of telling them that their new hairdo really looks bad, because you'd rather not hurt their feelings.
One of the other weak points of this game is the ultra confusing stats. With every weapon doing another kind of damage, you don't know how to keep track! Well, despite that problem, it's nifty to be able to use a wide variety of attacks.
But there is one really cool thing I'll note in this Hellgate London review: You can break down items in your inventory to conserve space, and you can pick up gold like crazy. Well, hey, it's hard to top that. Remember, if Hellgate London doesn't do it for you. There are plenty more games out there.
