Remove Stretch Marks Completely with Expensive Procedures

by Jen Hopkins

Scars and stretch marks form when wounds are healed either on the surface or beneath the surface of the skin. People generally understand the formation of scars on the surface of the skin as visible wounds were seen. Once this wound heals by collagen deposition, the formation of scars is very evident.

Stretch marks on the other hand, are scars that were formed without any visible wounds. This is because it is caused by extreme stretching of the skin which resulted in small tears on the underlying layer of the skin. The extreme stretching of the skin also caused the upper layer to become thin, which allows wounds and scars on the underlying layer to be seen. Periods in life when this may occur are during adolescence or pregnancy, when the body grows too fast for the skin to accommodate.

Once these tears heal, it will also form scars beneath the surface of the skin. But because the layer of the skin above this area is already thin, the ensuing scar formed is still noticeable on the surface. These are what we commonly refer to as stretch marks.

Now, there are many ways developed on how to get rid of scars and stretch marks. One ways is through the use of scar removal creams which claim to increase the cell regeneration of the skin so that the old cells deposited on the scar can be replaced by new cells. Aside from this, some also have an exfoliating effect to help get rid of the scar.

Other ways that people commonly use are home remedies such as cocoa butter and other creams. Home remedies rely more on the moisturizing properties of different creams, as well as different vitamins to help the skin produce younger and better looking cells. Others still have antioxidant effect which help prevent damage and get rid of damaging free radicals on the skin.

These methods may be useful in reducing the appearance of scars, but you cannot fully get rid of them through these methods. More effective ways of getting rid of these scars is by undergoing treatments like microdermabrasion. This method works by sloughing away any traces of the scar by physical or chemical methods. This will leave the skin raw for quite some time as it tries to regenerate the lost cells afterwards.

Another way is through laser treatments, which work similarly to microdermabrasion. But instead of sloughing off the scar, it burns away the scar so that all that will be left is your normal skin. The normal regeneration of cells will then fill up the space left by the scar and your skin will be back to the way it was before.

There is really no cheap way to get rid of scars and stretch marks if you want them to be completely removed from your skin. Creams and other home remedies will only work to lessen their appearance so that they become almost invisible. This might be enough for some people, but for those who really want to eliminate scars completely, you will have to spend some cash in getting them taken out permanently.
