Only Use the Best of Natural Acne Spot Treatments!

Most of the people with acne also have oily skin. This reality is due to the fact that oily skin produces more sebum than other skin types. Therefore, oily skin is naturally more prone to clogged pores and acne lesions.

What you can do in this instance is have a disciplined skin care routine that you stick with on a daily basis. Sometimes, when treating mild to moderate cases of acne (these include facial and back acne), a regular cleansing routine can be more effective than over the counter acne creams, however, if you're trying to treat more severe cases of acne, then you will need to have medical supervision.

Learning How to Cleanse Oily Skin

If you have oily skin, you can use a soapy cleanser. This does not, however, mean that you can use a soap to cleanse your face. Soaps tend to dry out your skin and are not comparable to soapy cleansers. Dry skin is only going to worsen your acne condition because it makes your skin break or crack. This is when acne bacteria shows up.

A soapy, gel cleanser is ideal for your skin type and is even better if it contains acne fighting ingredients such as salicylic acid or retinol. Both of these ingredients will help stabilize the production of sebum. The will also help balance out the rate of cell shedding and keep debris from clogging up the pores.

Despite most people thinking otherwise, you can try a natural acne remedy if you have oily skin. A great natural cleansers for oily skin is milk of magnesia. It's quite simple to use, all you need to do is rub it on your skin and rinse off.

Follow Up with Toning and Exfoliating

An effective daily cleansing routine will also require the use of a toner, however, if the cleanser you are using is good enough to clean your skin then it won't be necessary to tone your skin. If you do decide to use a toner, then make sure that it is alcohol-free.

Unlike toning, this is one step you shouldn't skip. Depending on how old you are and the condition your skin is in, you should exfoliate at least once a week. To exfoliate simply choose a scrub or use a product that contains salicylic acid.

The different between those two exfoliation techniques is that scrubs are mechanical exfoliants and salicylic acid is a chemical exfoliant. It really comes down to your preference because there isn't too much of a difference. Moisturize! Even if You Have Oily Skin

Just because your skin is oily doesn't mean it doesn't need to be moisturized. The problem with oily skin is an excess of oil, not moisture. So look for a moisturizer that is oil free and use it twice daily.
